Filmform (est. 1950) is dedicated to preservation, promotion and worldwide distribution of experimental film and video art. Constantly expanding, the distribution catalogue spans from 1924 to the present, including works by Sweden’s most prominent artists and filmmakers, available to rent for public screenings and exhibitions as well as for educational purposes.
A couple are sitting on two chairs next to each other. The characters are dressed in white clothes. Slowly their clothes become transparent. Their bodies emerge, red and nude, from being covered behind clothes. The couple are stripped before us and to each other. Sacrament raises question about the norm of marriage, commitment and identity.
Born in 1979 in Västervik, Sweden. Nowadays based in Stockholm.
Jonathan Lewald works as a film director and artist. He has an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, and has also studied at Bildkonstakademin: Helsingfors; Konstskolan Idun Lovén, Stockholm; Konstskolan Basis, Stockholm, including subjects such as creative writing, music and literature studies. His films have been screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and several film festivals in Europe and worldwide.
