My grandmother has Alzheimer’s Syndrome and I have been seeing in her eyes how she lacks an understanding of the present, memories and emotions; thoughts that wander without being attached.
Depression is often about not being able to separate one’s feelings and thoughts. Everything becomes unclear and difficult to grasp, sometimes close, sometimes in focus, but often far away and difficult to defend oneself from. For me, this work became a parallel way to maybe understand her life a bit.
