Highlights is a programme featuring five short works from the Filmform collection, curated by Erika Råberg in collaboration with HAIR CLUB and Kortfilmsdagen. Co-founded in 2014 by Suzanne Gold (US), Michal Lynn Shumate (US/IT), and Kelly Lloyd (US/UK), HAIR CLUB is an interdisciplinary, research-based art collective whose work puts forth a socially engaged art historical practice around the topic of hair in art and culture. This is the third and final event in a series as part of HAIR CLUB’s residency at Nordiska Konstförbundet (NKF) in Stockholm.
The programme showcases an eclectic mix of video works from the past two decades. Hair makes an appearance in each: adorning legs, acting as icon and symbol, and serving as a portal to the presence of nonhuman animals. The works also explore the range of roles that the camera can play – as a mirror, a recording device, and mediator of relationships.
Erika Råberg is an artist, writer, and curator based in Stockholm. She is a contributor to C-Print, produces curatorial projects in her apartment as Occasional Gallery, and is the founder of the forthcoming publication series Working Title, which distributes artists’ writings on other artists. www.erikaraberg.com
