About the artist
Leonard Vincent Rode (b. 1994) lives and works in Stockholm.
Is a Swedish visual artist currently based in Stockholm. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Uppsala University. Leonard has created a diverse body of work, including sculptures, photographs, films, and installations.
His art explores themes of family history, staged reality, and masculinity, often recreating scenes and memories from his own life and that of his family. Using hybrid film as his primary tool, he blurs the lines between reality and fiction. His latest work, “The Man from Hungary,” was nominated for Best Swedish Short Film at the Stockholm Film Festival 2023.
