The gallery and gallerist to Annee Olofsson has over the years they collaborated sold the artist’s work. After having completed her collaboration after many years, the artist chose to sell a photograph depicting the gallerist, the photograph was included in the photo series “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow from 2004, at Bukowskis Auction House.
The work was submitted by the artist and was presented at one of the auctions on contemporary art. Together with the photograph there is also a handwritten letter that the artist wrote to the gallerist – a summary through various works and years about their years together as an artist and gallerist. The structure resembles a love letter. A start and end and everything there is in between.
The expiry of the auction was uncertain – should the gallerist (work) be sold or not and if it was sold, to what price? Did the artist need to take the gallerist back? A play with roles. The role of artist and gallerist then, now and in the future.
