I’ll be you if you’ll be me is a project consisting of five short films made on a deserted island in the Baltic Sea. In these films Åsa Elzén and Markus Wetzel continuously change roles between director and actor and through this method develop narratives about a fictitious androgynous character. One of them directs the first scene (where the other acts accordingly) then they change roles and the other directs, deciding how the film will continue. In The Swimmer the character created through this method goes for a swim and somewhere along the way goes through a slight transformation.
