Here I am, lying on the same old blue kitchen sofa, thinking about all the maids lying like me, but in another time. They were in it, not on, like I am. But I’m not a maid? My mother was. But I was in the potato basket, hiding, disappearing, to get away from all the picking. Recognizing, and darkness and dirt and the smell of potatoes. And pain when I get hit by one.
– Are you in there? – Get out and pick! Out of that same basket I found… a different story
