Filmform (est. 1950) is dedicated to preservation, promotion and worldwide distribution of experimental film and video art. Constantly expanding, the distribution catalogue spans from 1924 to the present, including works by Sweden’s most prominent artists and filmmakers, available to rent for public screenings and exhibitions as well as for educational purposes.
When it comes to telling the truth, the body is probably a more reliable instrument than words. The body often expresses feelings against our intentions. In the video At the Peak of Boredom, the woman portrayed is a victim of the contrary. Her long-lasting yawn is divided into parts. The woman’s face climaxes at the top of the yawn in a horrifying, silent scream.
Lotte Konow Lund is a graduate of the National Academy of Arts 1993 – 1997, and she is currently Professor at the Department of Arts and Crafts at the Oslo Academy of the Arts. Konow Lund founded and ran Gallery GI, and has carried out several comprehensive curatorial jobs. She is also known for a series of artist portraits in Morgenbladet in recent years. Using a wide range of media, from drawing to video performance, sculpture and text, she examines issues related to identity, gender, the role of the artist in society as well as power structures.
