Turn Down Center Line is an installation consisting of two black and white video loops. Zetterman has been inspired by the commanding presence as the riding instructors use to correct riders during riding lessons, every instruction is like a command. ‘Walk forward, keep going, make a walk, you are the one who decides where he goes, the whip, if the leg isn’t enough’.
Turn Down Center Line No 1 shows two girls enacting an equine training session. One girl assumes the horse’s role on a line and the other urges her with a whip and commands her to repeatedly go and run round in a circle. Is it a casual play or serious training, performed with great seriousness?
