The idea to invite special guests to curate programmes, with material chosen from the archive, has been considered at Filmform for a long time. The intention is to let the archive’s material be filtered through different people’s experiences, interests and reflections. As readings vary from one person to another and change over time, archives should be used over and over again. Filmform’s archive contains a rich variety of expressions, techniques and themes – with Swedish experimental film and video art from 1924 until today.
The programme is curated by Dorte Olesen, choreographer, born in Denmark, living in Stockholm. Olesen has worked at leading theatres in Sweden, for example Dramaten, Moderna Dansteatern, Stockholms and Göteborgs Stadsteater . 2006 she had a residence at Dansens Hus in Stockholm and recieved a prize for the best stage happening of the year for her performance Poodle. This year she received the Swedish Arts Grants Committee´s Birgit Cullberg grant.
