Khaled D. Ramadan is an interdisciplinary media artist and documentarist with diverse interests in the fields of social history, scientific research and critical theory, which have greatly influenced his work. He often makes use of video, the internet, lighting and sound performance, collage, and digital photography to construct work that illuminates our notions of personal identity and community. Ramadan utilizes his art as an agent for empowerment to involve viewers from all different backgrounds and communities.
He is Lebanese, born in Beirut and currently working in the Nordic region, while living in the city of Copenhagen. Ramadan studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He is PhD Cand. at the Department for Cultural Studies and the Arts, Copenhagen University. Presently he holds a position as external lecturer at the same institute.He is also associated Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Dep. of Wall and Space.
