Born in 1972, lives and works in Reykjavík, Iceland.
“I work in different media, whatever I think is best for the idea. I have used photography, video, film, drawing, performance, installation, sound, music and text. Whatever suits the piece. I am a crossover artist, I like to go between art-forms and sometimes to connect them. I do some of my projects alone and in some projects I cooperate with other artists.
My main body of work are film installations that I work on for a long time. They are narrative by nature and they tend to be ironic. The pieces are normally humorous and very beautiful, but underneath the surface lies a furry beast. The themes I have been touching upon are difficult, strong feelings like love, jealousy and anger.
I present the films differently according to the space. I prefer showing them as a projection and then I create atmosphere around them. I sometimes mix other elements as drawings, photographs and posters into the installation. While working on the films I write, draw and photograph extensively. A part of my artistic practice is also making sound and music experiments. I have been making Mini-movie-pop-songs. As I like the form of the pop-song to tell a short-story and to get across emotions in a catchy way.”
