Alva Qi Törnqvist was born in Fenyi, China, grew up in the south of Sweden. Started with art and film through the performance art, continued through studying in France and Sweden graduating in fine arts. Her artistic practice centres on existential questions of origin, community and home. Through art, she creates poetic worlds that raise questions about what these different forms of belonging mean.
